Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. After that who cares?... He's a mile away and you've got his shoes - Billy Connolly
My friend Clare included a mention of these in a comment on a recent post of mine. Her very words were 'those clog things', but I knew exactly what she meant. She was suggesting that we bought some for my grandson to wear on the beach.
Well, Clare, that's exactly what Jo's done. Although Thomas vows he's never going to wear them! Not cool to wear the same sort of shoes that your Grandma wears.
These shown are mine. I bought them a couple of weeks ago at a local garden centre but, I have to say, they're not the 'must have', everybody's got them, 'Crocs'. They're a fake look-alike called 'Slogs', which I keep thinking of as 'Slugs'. They are extremely comfortable and I seem to wear them constantly. However, they're not flattering. I feel that if I got caught out in the floods I could float away on my shoes, with a couple of other people sharing.
Real ones are expensive. Mine weren't. But I only wish I'd bought some when we were in Florida last year 'cos there they were as cheap as chips!!

I immediately thought they were Crocs so they are a good imitation. Marymary introduced me to Crocs but only one shop stocks them here and I haven't seen a colour I want. As long as they are comfortable!
I've got knock-offs too. But they are soooooooo comfy!
Isn't it one of the signs that you're getting old, though? Trading style for comfort?
Do I care?
They are ageless chris. My three little grand children wear them, they are 3,5 and 8.
So, um, this is your clog-blog, Chris?
I do love them & they're comfortable but I can't help the feeling that I'm walking in a couple of lightweight boats! And I'm sure that I waddle!
Lizzie
P.S Thanks so much for link. Do you mind if I reciprocate?
Chris, just to say if you go over to my blog, you will see you have a "Schmooze" award! Don't worry - it's something nice!
I just don't understand the appeal of these things to adults although I think they are great for kids.
Since they are cheap here I guess I should buy some and check them out for comfort.
The colours are also horrid but these ones of yours look quite tasteful so you are better off with the knock-offs.
regards
jmb
Just to say that I've JUST returned from a few days in Wales, on the Pembrokeshire coast, which is rugged and rocky, and these shoes have not left my feet (except in bed). They are just great for pebbly beaches and equally at home on smooth stone floors.
I suppose, maryb, that this IS my clog-blog...... if only I had a dog!
Lizzie, please feel free link whenever you feel it's appropriate!
Welshcakes - now I'm really intrigued. You're definitely my next port of call.
I think, jmb, the appeal is obviously the comfort factor. They really haven't got anything else going for them.
I think they are awful please refrain
